Nanthoor: NSS\u00a0 team of \u00a0\u00a0Sri\u00a0 Bharathi Group of institution Nanthoor Mangalore rushed to flood affected areas of Charmadi and took up essential relief works to the flood affected victims of the\u00a0 area. The NSS team is the first team from outside,\u00a0 to plung into action in helping the victims of the area.<\/p>\n

Prof. A Jeevandas,\u00a0 principal of the college, Ashok. S. Nayak lecturer & coordinator,\u00a0 Praveen P, lecturer & joint coordinator,\u00a0 along with a team of 24 students under them participated in the urgent rehabilitation needs of the victims from 10:00 to 4:30PM.<\/p>\n

In looking at the condition of the area,\u00a0 it is learnt that many bridges were broken due to power packed gushing of water from the river on both the sides of its banks & about 75 houses were destructed.<\/p>\n

In Aranepade area floods brought in sand & crated sand pits all along knowing the wrath of isolated 75 families who were trapped in flood water having no other way to come out, the NSS team thought the necessity of erecting ways for those trappers families immediately. The team filled the sands there on in jute bags &erected temporary ways by using more than 1500 sand filled bags till evening.<\/p>\n

The team also engaged in cleaning water logged houses as well,\u00a0 amidst pouring rains and other hardships.<\/p>\n

As per the direction of Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Shree Ramachandrapura Mutt, Sri Sri Raghaveashwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji, a flood relief center was opened in the premises of Shree Bharathi College, Nanthoor, Mangalore, for collecting & distributing essential daily goods as donations for the flood victims.<\/p>\n
