To inculcate culture and to make children understand the importance of parents in life, Shree Bharathi Vidyalaya, run by SriRamachandrapura Matha, took a great step by making children worship their parents in the school.
On this auspicious day of Kannada Rajyotsava, children worshipped their parents by offering flowers at their feet and vowed to look after their parents through out with respect and dignity.
In order to restore the Bharatiya customs and cultures, which are being faded away, this event was organized under the guidance of H.H. SriSamsthana.
This wonderful event started offering Shodashopachara pooja to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati who are the mother and father of the Universe. President of the School Sri Gopalakrishna Hegade made the audience aware of the significance of this MatruPitru Pooja before the children performed it. Sanskrit Teacher Sri T. G. Bhat taught the pooja traditions to children.
Parents expressed their overwhelmed happiness and shared their views. They said that such kind of events should increase which will help in inculcating culture in children. Education does not mean text book knowledge, but it should help in overall development of children. They said that an atmosphere has to be created where parents live with their children in old age and thus the number of old age homes should come down in the society.
Kannada Rajyotsava was also celebrated in a grand way along with maatapitru pooja. Sri Govindaraj Korikkar, Joint Secretary of the school, offered flowers to the portrait of Kannadambe and hoisted the State flag. Naadageete was melodiously sung by the students. Kannada teacher Sri Sathyanarayana Bhat explained the importance of Kannada language. Smt Champaka Bhat welcomed the gathering. Vice Principal of the school, parents and all the children were part of this wonderful, meaningful occasion.
