Pearls of Wisdom : Do Not give up! – Series of discourse by H.H. Shreemajjagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji

Sri Samsthana

Two frogs lived in a pond. One was fat and another one was thin.  One day both the frogs jumped out of the pond and entered a nearby house. Accidently they fell into a bowl of thick curds kept in the kitchen. They tried hard to get out of the bowl but could not jump as their feet got caught in the  curds.

The fat frog told its companion,
“Friend, I am unable to kick, I will die.”

The thin frog pleaded,
“Keep kicking your leg, do not give up, there may be a way out.”

But the fat frog ignored this advice, stopped kicking and after a while it died.

The thin frog continued kicking its leg and after some time a tiny ball of butter emerged from the curds. The frog sat on the ball of butter, tried hard and jumped out of the bowl and saved itself.

We may have to face several trials and tribulations in life. We have to face them and fight without losing heart. If we do this, good days will definitely dawn on us.
