Pearls of Wisdom : ‘I’ Should Go – H.H. Srimajjagadguru Shankaracharya SriSri Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji

Sri Samsthana

One day a person knocked on the door of God’s mansion. The door was bolted. A voice from inside enquired-
‘Who is it?’

The person answered-
‘It is I.’

The door did not open. He waited for a long time. Disappointed, he went to a forest and sat in deep meditation.  Years rolled by; After a long time, he gained Self Knowledge.

The person once again returned to the house of God and knocked on the door. The same voice asked-
‘Who is it?’

The man answered-
‘You.’

The door opened. The person realised that only the death of ego leads to God realisation.

The path of love is very narrow. Two people cannot travel together. Two has to become One.

When the holy rivers Ganga, Thunga, Godavari, Saraswati, Yamuna and Kaveri  join the ocean, they lose their identity and separateness and gain one colour, form and taste. Just as the rivers merge to become the vast ocean, we too must give up our ego and narrow identities and surrender to God. This leads to fulfilment.
