A young man was deeply in love with a girl. Looking at him, all his friends and relatives feared what would happen to him if his love was rejected. The youth had not disclosed his love to the girl.
After a long time, mustering all his courage, the young man told the girl about his deep feelings for her. The girl replied that she does not have any feelings for him.
After this, the young man’s friends were worried that he might get addicted to some bad habits or commit suicide. But the youth remained calm and composed and behaved as if nothing had happened. Surprised by this they asked him,
“Were you not disappointed when your love was rejected?”
The youth said, “True. I loved her deeply. But she was not fortunate enough to receive it. Why should I be unhappy? Greatness of love is in sacrifice.”
