Pearls of Wisdom : Importance of Trust – Series of discourse by H.H. Shreemajjagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara Bharathi Mahaswamiji

Sri Samsthana

One day a school teacher took the students outside the class room and asked,

“Children, can you see the trees and plants?”

All the children answered,

“yes  teacher.”

The teacher continued,
“Children can you see the sky and the objects around you?”
The children replied that they could see all the objects shown by the teacher.

Finally the teacher asked the students,
“Can you see God?”
The children said “no”.

The teacher explained to the students that whatever cannot be seen with human eyes does not exist. Therefore, God does not exist.

After the teacher  left the class room, a little boy got up and asked his classmates,
“Can any one of you see your brain?”
The children answered in one voice, ”NO”.
The boy continued,
“Since we cannot see the  brain, our teacher does not have a brain.”

If something is not visible to us, it is because of our inability to see it and not because it does not exist. We should not doubt or deny its existence. If we firmly believe that God exists , that  trust itself will deliver us from difficulties.
