 Peace of Mind.

Once a farmer lost his wristwatch in a huge store-house. He searched the entire storehouse thoroughly, but could not find it.

There were a few children playing near the store-house. The farmer called them and said,
“Children, I have lost my wristwatch in this store-house. If any one finds it for me, I shall give him/her a gift.”

The children ran into the store-house and began to search for the wristwatch. After a while, they came out disappointed as they failed to find the watch.

Meanwhile, there was a little boy who was watching all this. He told the farmer that he would try to find the watch. The boy went inside the store-house.  After a few minutes, he came out holding the wristwatch in his hand.

All were amazed by the little boy’s feat and wondered how he managed to retrieve the watch while all of them had failed.

The farmer asked the boy,
“How did you find the wristwatch?  What did you do?”

The little fellow replied,
“I went inside the store-house, sat down quietly for some time and listened carefully. I could hear the ticking of the watch. I went to the place from where the sound came and found the watch.”

Similarly in life, we often lose happiness and peace of mind and search for them far and wide. But happiness and peace are within us. When we sit down in silence and seek them, they become ours.
